Later, I’m smoking cigarettes on the roof which is lovely albeit useless in terms of furthering my goals of harnessing self discipline. Dinner at Balthazar is better, because it’s darker inside and classic inside and I arrive close to closing and I write little notes on the postcards they leave you and we make a little bit of a scene but nothing outside the realm of social acceptability. Balthazar is cozy, which is why it is good. Order: steak tartare, salmon, salad, pomegranate martini (dirty martini is better), heritage chicken.
